John is an English Solicitor and a Director of Stonehage Fleming Law Limited.
He joined Stonehage Fleming in 2008 from Macfarlanes, where he was Head of the Private Client Department from 2000 to 2005. During his 40-year career at Macfarlanes John’s main areas of practice were trusts, tax and estate planning for wealthy UK and international families.
John studied Law at Jesus College, Cambridge before qualifying as an English Solicitor at Macfarlanes, where he was made a partner in 1975. John is a member of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law and Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, by which he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006. John is also a trustee of a number of charities with operations both in the UK and abroad.
Len is a South African Attorney and is the Chairman of Stonehage Fleming Law Limited. He is also a Partner of the Stonehage Fleming Group.
Prior to joining the Group in 2005, Len was a partner in a large Johannesburg law firm before relocating to the Channel Islands in 1986, where he established a trust and advisory business. Len qualified as a South African Attorney and notary in 1977. He holds Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws degrees and a Higher Diploma in Company Law from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Master of Laws degree in taxation from the University of London.
Nigel is an English Solicitor and Head of Legal Practice at Stonehage Fleming Law Limited.
He joined the Group in 2011 from the Wealth Management department at Baker & McKenzie and has particular expertise in international trust and personal tax planning. Nigel qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Association of Taxation Technicians.
Jeremy is a Director of Stonehage Fleming Law Limited. He is an English solicitor and for the last 15 years he has advised high net worth international individuals on all aspects of succession planning and personal tax.
Jeremy joined the Group in 2012 from the International Private Client team at Farrer & Co, having qualified as a solicitor in the Private Capital Group of Simmons & Simmons in 2003. Jeremy holds a Law degree from the University of Nottingham and completed his Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School. He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
Vivian is an English solicitor in Stonehage Fleming Law Limited.
Vivian is a Director of Stonehage Fleming Law Limited. He is an English solicitor and practices international private client law. He advises high net worth UK and overseas families, individuals and trustees on trust, taxation and estate planning issues. He often works closely with overseas advisers given the cross-jurisdictional aspects of his work. Vivian also practices in the field of management incentives, advising executives on their share plans and tax-efficient remuneration.
Prior to joining the Group, Vivian spent ten years as a solicitor in private practice, predominately at SJ Berwin and Macfarlanes. He graduated from the University of Manchester in the History of Art before qualifying as a solicitor. Vivian is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners the Share Plan Lawyers Group and Professional Advisors to the International Art Market (PAIAM) and holds the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates and the IAL Art Law Diploma.
Henry is an English solicitor with over 10 years' experience of advising high net worth individuals, families and trustees on a broad range of tax, estate planning and wealth structuring issues.
Henry studied Modern Languages at Edinburgh University before starting his legal career at Withers LLP in London, where he practised for four years in the International Trusts team. This was followed by a four year term at Conyers Dill & Pearman, Bermuda where he was called to the local bar. In 2011 he returned to work in the Private Client team at Wedlake Bell and he joined Stonehage Fleming in 2014.
Julie is an English solicitor and specialises in advising private clients on a wide range of estate-planning, tax, trusts, wills and probate. She also has experience in advising on mental capacity issues.
Prior to joining Stonehage Fleming Law Limited in 2018, Julie practised at Mundays LLP as a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and a full accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly. She holds undergraduate degrees from the University of the West of England and the Open University together with a Master of Law degree from Cambridge University.
Robert is a Senior Associate in the Stonehage Fleming Law team and advises international and domestic individuals, families and trustees on a range of tax and trust issues. Robert has a particular interest in succession planning, advising on the long term preservation of family wealth and the smooth transfer of wealth between generations.
Robert trained at Withers and qualified in 2007 as part of the Wealth Planning Team where, apart from a period working in an offshore role, he remained until he joined the Group in 2018.
